Full-Time Line Cook - Capocaccia Trattoria
Capocaccia Trattoria is seeking an experienced and responsible Line Cook to join our team. We're looking for a dedicated professional with a passion for Italian cuisine who can work independently in our exciting open kitchen.
About the Role
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for transforming high-quality ingredients into authentic Italian dishes. You'll prepare, cook, and plate food during busy service hours while maintaining our high standards for quality and presentation. This is a full-time, permanent position, and you will report directly to the Chef de Cuisine.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare various food items using a range of cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards meticulously.
- Operate unsupervised during busy service, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Ensure compliance with all Department of Health regulations and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of cooking experience, with at least 2 years in a casual to fine dining environment.
- A good knowledge of Italian cuisine and techniques is preferred.
- Strong knife skills and the ability to use small tools and utensils adeptly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 12 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler, or equivalent certification is required.
- Must be fluent in English.
- A culinary arts degree or diploma is preferred but not essential.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Wage: $17.55 - $20.00, plus tips.
- Schedule: Full-time with open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may include 8, 10, or 12-hour days.
- Expected Start Date: Aug/September 2025
