The Lighting Energy Analyst exposes the employee/candidate to the lighting industry as a niche specialty. Advancement opportunities exist with this role which will gradually introduce the employee to project coordination and management, and lighting specification and design.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting of on site assessments of existing premises focused on existing lighting systems.
- Measurement of existing achieved light levels.
- Examination of lighting controls.
- Assisting with calculations of base line electrical loading.
- Lighting specific training provided.
- Typical weekly assignment will follow a 3 days field, 2 days office work.
- Primary tool sets are developed on MS Excel database.
- Must have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle arrive at office.
- Able to travel throughout the province and country to meet audit/assessment requirements.
- Managing client accounts:
- Coordinating schedules, communicating project progress, assisting with documents and processes.
- Maintain various documents and that the information is accurate and up to date.
- Respond to emails to address client’s concerns and project issues.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
- Strong oral and written English communication skills, with a capacity to write formal technical report.
- Strong mathematical skill set is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and interact with staff at various levels of the organization.
- Ability to use MS Office suite, especially, Word, Excel and Project.
- Preferred: Familiarity of ASHRAE Level 2 auditing and report requirements.
- Preferred: Ability to read and interpret line and construction drawings.
- Preferred: Pre-existing knowledge base of general lighting systems.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Technologist, Interior Design or Applied Science from a University or College of recognized standing.
