WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Role:

We are seeking a talented Learning and Development Specialist to join our team for a maternity leave contract. We are looking for someone with strong instructional design skills and a love of developing people who are self-motivated to drive impactful learning initiatives. This role will be integral to creating and managing engaging content, implementing strategic programs like competency frameworks and career paths, and optimizing learning outcomes in pursuit of CoolIT strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and Manage Content: Develop and maintain training materials for diverse audiences, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and regular updates.
  • Content Development: Design both instructor-led and eLearning content using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Needs Assessment: Gain an understanding of industry standards, departmental requirements, and processes to curate content for effective training program design and delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner with departments to identify skill gaps and training needs, working closely with SMEs to ensure content aligns with the latest industry standards and departmental goals.
  • Strategic Programs: Lead and support the implementation of initiatives such as employee competency frameworks, career pathing programs, in-house leadership training, and Mentorship program to support organizational growth and talent development.
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Implement evaluation metrics and feedback mechanisms to assess training program effectiveness, analyzing results to optimize learning outcomes and technical competence across teams.
  • Logistics Coordination: Manage all logistical aspects of training sessions, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and equipment setup, to ensure smooth and effective training delivery.
  • LMS: Administer training content and programs in the LMS by uploading/updating content, managing training records, and deploying training.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Adult Education, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related discipline).
  • Proven ability to design and implement training programs, including curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for administering, tracking, and reporting on training initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating strategic L&D programs such as competency mapping, career pathing, and leadership development

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with subject matter experts.
