PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative maintenance of the equipment
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and used in a safe manner
- Read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings to assure both quality and quantity requirements are met
- Set up and operate a computer numerical control (CNC) Laser to cut parts
- Place and remove sheets of material from bed
- Address machine malfunctions in an efficient and expedited manner
- Ensure that projects are implemented/completed according to timelines
- Prepare raw materials for production
- Supports organization of materials and equipment
- Inspect final products
- Following workplace safety and housekeeping rules
- Other duties as directed by the Manager
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints ·
- Detail oriented; understands drawings and specifications; uses measuring tools such as caliper, square, and measuring tapes accurately
- Knowledge of metric, imperial and gauges measuring
- Safety conscience of surrounding machinery
- Physical fitness as the position requires lifting and moving large pieces of metal (up to 50 lbs) and standing for long periods of time
- Basic computer skills
- Forklift license is an asset, as operation of forklift may be required
