A Landscape Gardener is one that looks forward to working in the garden, takes pride in their responsibilities, performs their tasks to a high and consistent standard, and routinely does so with the trust of their foreman. Responsibilities of a Landscape Gardener:
- Assist foreman in preparation of daily on site activities
- Assist foreman in construction/maintenance of garden beds and planters.
- Help foreman undertake spring/fall cleanup, fertilizing, winterization, etc.
- Use and operate tools and equipment used in horticulture.
- Care for growing plants by watering, pruning, weeding, cultivating, fertilizing, and removing dead or damaged leaf tissue.
- Plant seeds, bulbs, perennials, annuals, trees and shrubs.
- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges.
- Undertake tree, shrub, and plant examination and treatment.
- Inspect, handle, and transport nursery stock.
- Spread topsoil, mulch, and lay sod.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations.
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

The following skills and qualifications are required:
- Completion of college, vocational, or technical training.
- Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, and perennials.
- Basic measurement and calculation skills.
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail.
Having the following skills and qualifications will be an integral part of becoming a successful member of the Tumber team:
- Ability to be reliable, dependable, and punctual.
- Ability to work efficiently as a team member and/or individual.

- Tumber & Associates Ltd. is a landscape design build company operating in the mid- to high-end area of the sector with the majority of work occurring on residential properties.
- We typically operate from April to December (weather dependent). Operating months may extend into January, February, and March depending on the type of work occurring.
- Our standard work week is Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, longer days may apply.
