Responsibilities:
· Performs physical/chemical analyses on samples using approved methods and maintaining accurate data records of analytical results.
· Performs analysis and experimentation for the purpose of process development, application and customer approval.
· Ensures analyses are accurate and precise by implementing Laboratory Quality Assurance Procedures.
· Update Lab Inventories, remove expired items and ensure control on shelf life.
· Make chemical additions and dilutions to processing tanks to maintain
· Data entry of analysis results into spreadsheet software for verification and documentation of chemical processes, investigates formulas, processes and methods for solution of technical problems.
· Performs in-process tests and maintain the plating tanks within the QA approved limits.
· Checks tanks by running panels and volumetric titrations, checking both temperature and PH, and adding the appropriate amount of chemicals to the tanks.
· Maintain calibration records, perform calibration of equipment and maintain/update calibrations schedule
· Prepare shop router for monthly process testing and distribute shop router and test panels to operators
· Perform monthly process testing and send out test panels to outside laboratories
· Perform other tasks as required within the scope of the role.
Required Knowledge
· Metal plating wet chemistry. Aerospace specifications.
· Ability to operate pH meters, pipettes, burrets, thermometers and all other lab equipment.
Required Qualification and Experience
· A BS/BA degree in chemistry or Lab. Technician diploma and 2 years’ experience or a High School diploma and 4 years laboratory experience.
· Basic computer knowledge.
