Our open kitchen features scratch cooking with everything made in house.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kitchen Supervisor will work to create unforgettable culinary experiences for our guests in a new space in Kitsilano. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the back of house operations that deliver superior and exemplary service of outstanding food to guests and for the daily supervision and production of culinary operations. The successful candidate has the ability to put together key relational, financial, and leadership ingredients to build a highly motivated team and will have the opportunity to take their career to the next level in an environment like no other.
This role will focus on:
- Providing leadership, development, and motivation of team to ensure an exceptional culinary experience through consistent delivery of the highest quality food
- Perform opening and closing checklist duties by leading staff, ensuring all operational tasks get completed
- Leading the culinary management team to identify, evaluate, and consistently improve service strategies
- Overseeing inventory of food product and coordinating product ordering and receiving
- Participating in menu planning and development
- Overseeing the hiring and training of all culinary team members and maintaining appropriate staffing levels as per business needs
- Managing culinary staff, including supervising activities of cooks and stewards
- Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness standards following sanitation standards throughout the kitchens to comply with Provincial regulations
- Developing strong working relationships with suppliers and benchmarking food costing
YOU HAVE:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a kitchen manager or sous at a similar environment.
- Equivalent Red Seal certification, a degree in the Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time
- Inspirational leadership skills and the ability to rally a team to achieve its highest potential, and then driving it to the next level
- The ability to create and develop menus that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Strong computer proficiency in systems related to the department
- The flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
