RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist with basic food preparation (e.g., tray-up, portioning, simple prep tasks).
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including work surfaces, floors, and equipment.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing area, ensuring dishes, trays, and utensils are cleaned and organized.
- Collect, sort, and dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with food safety standards.
- Restock kitchen supplies (utensils, dishes, packaging, cleaning products) as needed.
- Support bakers and cooks with loading/unloading trays, moving ingredients, and general kitchen tasks.
- Follow all food safety and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with end-of-day clean down and preparation for the next day’s production.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for long periods.
- Good time management and ability to follow instructions.
- Team-oriented with a positive and cooperative attitude.
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and cleaning practices (dishwasher, sanitizers, trays, utensils).
- Previous experience in a kitchen, bakery, or food service environment is an asset but not required.
