We’re looking to add enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to our kitchen team for a permanent, continuing prep position. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and takes pride in setting their team up for success.
This is a flexible and fulfilling opportunity with room to grow in the company. Afternoon and evening prep shifts can accommodate high school students or others looking for part-time hours. Weekend availability is highly preferred. For the right candidate, this role can also include creative opportunities in menu development and new product creation.
Our prep team plays a key role in supporting the next day’s production shift by preparing fresh, high-quality ingredients for both our café and grocery store offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Review next day’s production orders and prep required ingredients accordingly
- Chop, roast, or portion vegetables; cook grains (e.g. rice, quinoa); and prepare sauces, dressings, and condiments
- Slice and portion deli meats to specification
- Assist with portioning, packaging, and labeling of products for the cafe and retail
- Support baking or light cooking tasks for the next day’s production
- Stock prep stations and ensure adequate ingredients are available
- Maintain clear communication with morning production staff using prep sheets or handover notes
- Keep prep station, dry storage, and cooler areas clean and organized throughout and after the shift
- Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate low or out-of-stock items to the kitchen lead or ordering manager
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handwashing, temperature control, and allergen awareness
What We’re Looking For:
- You’re reliable, efficient, and take pride in doing a great job
- You can follow instructions, stay organized, and work at a steady pace
- You’re comfortable on your feet and can lift up to 50 lbs when needed
- You understand food safety and kitchen cleanliness (Food Safe or equivalent certification is a plus)
- Availability for afternoon/evening shifts and some weekends
- Experience in a commercial kitchen or food production is helpful, but we’re happy to train the right person
