Universe Machine Corporationhas been trusted since 1965 to manufacture, modify and repair metal products for heavy industry, and provides a wide range of specialized products and services in its three divisions located in a modern facility incorporating over 100,000 sq. ft. in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Opportunity:
As a Red Seal Machinist – Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) you will have strong capabilities on manual Horizontal Boring Mills including over 5+ years of experience. You have strong communication skills and a positive attitude. You enjoy trouble shooting and working independently to follow our system. You come to work each day with a renewed commitment to your safety and the safety of others, following all safe work procedures.

Job Type: Full Time - 40 Hours per week
Rate: $39.00-$44.00 or according to qualifications and experience
Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday to Friday
Qualifications for Red Seal Machinist (HBM):
- Understanding of standard practices, materials, tools and methods of the Machinist’s trade with an ability to use all types of measuring tools and maintain calibrations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to work with close tolerances
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Be familiar with oilfield, mining, gearboxes and skid fabrications
Required Experience/Education for Red Seal Machinist (HBM): Red Seal Machinist – Horizontal Boring Mill - Journeyperson
- Understand and read English
- Basic Computer
