JOURNEYMAN CARPENTER
We are seeking an entry level Journeyman Carpenter to join our team. This position would be a perfect fit for those who have recently completed their schooling or have 1-2 years experience.
This position works under the direction of a Foreman, or Site Superintendent and will work independently once assigned work.
This position performs the physical tasks at a job site that require a skilled trade in the construction of commercial structures. Work done by this position supports the timely completion of a project and the quality of the project. Work is held to a high standard consistent with Camdon’s values.
Types of work performed will include the following
- Wood framing & rough carpentry
- Doors/windows/hardware install
- Small concrete formwork, place and finish work (sidewalks, aprons, bollards, trenches)
- Small steel stud and drywall projects including comslab installs
- Metal cladding, flashings & trim. Roof curbs
- Site superintendent cover-off if required
Other skills that will ensure your success in this position include:
- Strong organization skills, work efficiently, ability to work on your own, and professionalism.
- Good interpersonal skills as the position encounters staff, sub-trades, and Clients as part of a normal work day
- Good communication skills; verbal skills for discussions and written skills in order to complete required documentation associated with the position
- Must be able to read & interpret drawings
- Previous commercial construction experience is a benefit
Complying, maintaining, and promoting on-site safety will be the highest priority at all times.
The successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license, suitable transportation for this position, and be willing to work throughout Alberta.
