Location: This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a field-based position.
Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday, 40-hours per week.
Position Overview: We are currently seeking an IPD Technician to join our Edmonton Warranty and Service Team. This role is responsible for installing insulation, applying vapor barrier (poly), and assisting with drywall preparation and installation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial construction, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes that meet safety and building code standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install various types of insulation (batt, blown-in, spray foam, rigid board) according to project specifications.
- Apply and seal vapor barrier (polyethylene) with precision to prevent air leakage and moisture issues.
- Assist with drywall installation and finishing as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work meets building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
- Report material needs, progress updates, and any issues to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in insulation, poly installation, and/or drywall is preferred.
- Knowledge of building codes, insulation standards, and drywall practices.
- Ability to use tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid) are an asset.
- High attention to detail, quality workmanship and the ability to work meticulously to achieve high-quality results.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to give and take direction to work effectively alongside a team.
- Organizational skills, ability to organize materials, tools and equipment to be prepared to complete assigned work efficiently and effectively.
- Keep work vehicle clean, orderly and report any required maintenance or issues.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
- Basic understanding of dispatch software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Relationship focused, willingness to participate in team and client events.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
