Summary:
The Inventory Clerk II position processes the documentation and coordinates the movement of inventory and raw materials. Duties include material picks, material transfers and the completion and compiling of material usage documentation. This position will be responsible for physical inventory management including cycle counting and inventory management within the ERP software. Active participation in FET’s Health, Safety and Environment is required. Special projects and other duties as required.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate with manufacturing to determine inventory requirements.
- Prepare inventory items for production requirements in advance of projects.
- Responsible for the hand-off of items from inventory to production.
- Visually inspect company property. materials and assets.
- Consuming inventory to projects in ERP, Business Central.
- Perform daily inventory cycle counts.
- Consolidate inventory storage on an item basis.
- Ensure inventoried products are stored, identified and preserved as required.
- Handle materials – within the shop and outdoors as necessary.
- Responsible for inventory movements and locations within Business Central, including bin locations.
- Identification, movement and tracking of all wire spools.
- Assist with inter-facility material movements.
- Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Create and maintain inventory usage reports.
- Assist with inventory shipping/receiving transactions in Business Central.
- Receive shipments with Business Central.
- Perform inventory outputs on production orders as required.
- Active participation in FET’s health, safety and environment program, including training and meetings.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge
- Ability to read and understand production schedules.
- Familiar with raw material identification practices including labelling and heat trace numbering.
- Works efficiently independently as well as, in a team environment.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Intermediate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience within ERP systems such as Business Central.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Independently lift and carry materials weighing up to 45 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Education
- Grade 12 or GED – additional education would be an asset.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred.
Experience
- 2+ years in a manufacturing, machining or similar environment preferred.
- 1+ year working within an ERP system.
- 3+ years within Inventory or related position.
- 2+ years of Forklift experience required.
