Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking an Instrumentation / OT Technician to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

The Instrumentation / OT Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the instrumentation and operational technology (OT) systems, including process control networks, field instrumentation, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols. This role ensures the efficient operation of automated systems within a mining or industrial environment and works closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure reliable and safe operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair field instruments (pressure, flow, temperature, level).
- Troubleshoot instrumentation issues impacting control and performance.
- Inspect and test instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain and troubleshoot OT systems (SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, etc.).
- Monitor and manage industrial control network (ICN) security and function.
- Support OT/IT integration and cybersecurity alignment.
- Work with engineers to optimize control loops and instrumentation.
- Configure and tune control systems to improve performance.
- Maintain instrumentation and OT records, including calibration logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
- Help develop and maintain instrumentation and control procedures.
- Support instrumentation and automation in capital and maintenance projects.
- Assist with commissioning and start-up of new systems and equipment.
- Support upgrades from legacy systems to modern platforms.
- Provide technical support and training on instrumentation and OT.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Automation, or related field
- Instrumentation Technician Certification (Red Seal/Journeyman) preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in instrumentation/control systems in industrial or mining settings
- Proficient with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and field instrumentation
- Strong knowledge of Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP protocols
- Skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and industrial automation software
- Understanding of OT cybersecurity practices
