Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac equipment to safely excavate and expose underground utilities while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge, as well as the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks and associated equipment to perform excavation tasks.
- Safely dig around underground utilities, ensuring minimal disruption and damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute excavation projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including site conditions and any issues encountered.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid class 5 driver's license and have own transportation to the shop in Lethbridge. Air brake endorsement and class 3 license would be an asset. Must live in Lethbridge.
- No experience necessary. Safety tickets are an asset (H2S, First Aid, Ground Disturbance), but not a requirement. Include expiry dates of your tickets.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor
- Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Able to work in various weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$35.50 per hour
