Hexcel Construction is looking for an experienced and motivated Hydrovac Truck Operator. The position involves operating a Hydrovac Truck and using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to dig efficiently and precisely to uncover utilities on civil construction sites.
The position requires a high level of knowledge in the operation of Hydrovac trucks and there accessories. It also requires knowledge of Lower Mainland trucking routes.
The daily duties of the position would include:
- Operating hydrovac equipment and performing hydrovac duties working in a variety of environments, including confined spaces
- Driving a hydrovac truck (please note that the truck is automatic)
- Daily pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Attending safety meetings
- Performing routine inspections and minor repairs on hydrovac equipment
- Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
.This position requires the following experience and/or qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience operating a hydrovac truck
- A valid Class 1 or Class 3 License with airbrake endorsement
- A clean drivers abstract
- Strong organizational capabilities
- Mechanical knowledge is an asset
- Safety tickets such as First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Confined Space Entry, etc. would be an asset (Hexcel will provide training if necessary)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labour in varying weather conditions
The position offers competitive pay ranging from $40-$43 per hour, depending on experience.
