Job Title: Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the operational and strategic human resources functions within a healthcare setting. This position ensures compliance with employment legislation, manages employee engagement and benefits programs, and supports workforce planning and employee relations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain electronic employee HR files such that all required documentation, including copies of current professional registration, probationary and annual performance reviews, supervisory reports and continuing education documentation are included.
- Manage employee benefits programs including probation tracking, arrears and leave of absence (LOA) reports, and processing change forms.
- Coordinate or delegate employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Collaborate with department managers to ensure employees are scheduled appropriately to maintain their employment status (FT/PT/Casual).
- Manage Workers Compensation claims documentation including filing reports, follow-up activities; participate in the development of modified work programs as requested.
- Maintain current knowledge of provincial legislation relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labour laws
- Assist in addressing and resolving real or suspected violations of employment legislation.
- Assist with discipline and counseling of employees as requested.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of a recognized Human Resources Certificate or Diploma program. Working towards CHRP designation will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3–5 years Human Resources experience, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment with emphasis in the areas of employee engagement, performance management and WSIB claims management.
- Minimum of 2-3 years in a leadership, managerial or supervisory position.
- Proficiency in of provincial legislation relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labour laws
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to handle difficult situations in an objective, consistent format, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
