The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a trusted partner and advisor, leveraging relationships across the organization to provide effective people strategies and solutions. This role is responsible for proactively partnering with business groups and broader HR team to enhance the employee experience. This includes employee relations, engagement, workforce planning, performance management, and driving annual team objectives. This role is crucial in aligning HR strategies with business objectives and driving organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with leaders at all levels within the business, and nation-wide, relative to a range of people related areas, providing strategic guidance and expertise on people and processes
- Establish strong relationships with leaders and team members, proactively seeking to understand the business challenges and objectives of assigned client groups in order to drive a proactive approach
- Provide expertise, guidance and support in areas such as workforce planning, talent development, performance management, workplace and organizational design
- Interpret and apply HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, including Quebec CNESST and the Ontario Employment Standards Act
- Manage employee relations matters, while ensuring compliance with provincial employment and labour standards including within Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia
- Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions that improve workforce performance, retention and satisfaction
- Lead and implement HR programs including engagement initiatives, compensation reviews, talent strategies, and succession planning
- Support recruitment processes in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Partner to effectively identify and attract top talent
- Coach leaders on effective people management, team effectiveness, and change leadership
- Actively engage in the company’s annual cycles, including workforce planning, performance evaluations and compensation reviews, partnering with the business and broader HR team in the development and execution of plans and programs to support organizational effectiveness strategies
- Facilitate presentations for leader and employee groups, primarily on annual programs and processes, and primarily in French language
- Remain current with industry trends, identifying opportunities to leverage insights into programs or learning requirements accordingly
- Champions initiatives to drive best culture practices and experience
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources function
- Minimum of 1 year in an HR Business Partner role
- Minimum of 1 year of HR support experience within a regulated, not-for-profit, or financial services setting
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources or a related discipline such as business administration, industrial relations or commerce
- Bilingual fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required to support both local and cross-provincial HR operations
- Strong knowledge of Quebec Labour Code, employment standards and HR best practices
- Proficiency working in a range of technology (e.g., Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook - SharePoint, HRIS/HCMS, applicant tracking and learning management systems)

- Knowledge of recruitment and selection including behavioral interviewing techniques
- Ability to work independently, allocate time effectively, work under pressure, prioritize workload and work at a highly detailed level
- Ability to demonstrate a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change

CIRO is a pan-Canadian organization that oversees all investment dealers and trading activity in marketplaces across Canada. This position requires the ability to communicate with employees in CIRO regional offices and other CIRO stakeholders across Canada. Accordingly, proficiency in both official languages of Canada (French and English) is needed.
