Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director, HSE and Operational Risk, the HSE Coordinator's role is to support our forestry operations, with additional involvement across other divisions. This is a key role for someone passionate about safety, who understands the unique challenges of working in forestry and is ready to make an impact by promoting a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have experience in forestry and bring a proactive, boots-on-the-ground approach to health, safety, and environmental compliance. The candidate will be a strong communicator, able to connect with crews in the field and leadership in the office, and have a solid grasp of the regulations that shape safe, compliant operations.

Regulatory Compliance & Auditing
  • Monitor and support compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations including WorkSafeBC, CVSE, Mine Acts, and other relevant standards.
  • Apply Arrow and customer safety policies consistently across forestry and related operations
  • Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and regular safety audits
  • Proactively identify and address risks in high-hazard forestry environments
Incident Response & Emergency Preparedness
  • Respond to incidents including injuries and near-misses
  • Ensure all measures are in place for wildfire prevention and response
  • Lead root-cause investigations and develop meaningful corrective actions
  • Support emergency preparedness planning and drills
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting to regulators, customers, and internal stakeholders
Training, Culture, and Continuous Improvement
  • Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training programs tailored for forestry operations
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and refresher sessions in the field
  • Maintain training and certification records to ensure workforce compliance
  • Champion environmental practices including fuel handling, spill response, and waste management
  • Support development and maintenance of practical HSE procedures aligned with industry best practices
  • Provide internal and external customer service excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Manager and/or HSE Manager.
Work Conditions
  • Based in the Kamloops office with travel to division locations including Fort St James.
  • Must be able to work outdoors, all types of weather and negotiate the terrain of various worksites, including steep and/or slippery terrain and climbing stairs and ladder
  • Flexibility to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours
You Possess:
  • Forestry experience strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety an asset, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and safety management systems
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
  • Safety-first mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Confident communicator across all levels of the organization
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and service-driven
  • High personal integrity and professionalism
  • Strong safety proclivity/safety oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
