Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various subjects, including Math, Science, and Engineering, and will be passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to develop engaging lesson plans, and experience working with diverse learners, including children and adults. The position is available for an immediate start, and candidates must have full availability to work any day of the week. University graduates, candidates pursuing OCCT are welcome to apply but must have full availability to work any day of the week.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group (3:1)tutoring sessions in subjects such as Math, Science (including Organic Chemistry)
- Develop customized lesson plans that cater to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Utilize learning technologies and resources to enhance the tutoring experience.
- Assist students with homework assignments, exam preparation, and understanding complex concepts in subjects like Trigonometry, Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and Differential Equations.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
- Track student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians when necessary.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching with a strong understanding of curriculum development.
- Proficiency in subjects such as Math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus), Science including Physics & chemistry
- Familiarity with adult education principles is a plus.
- Strong computer skills for utilizing educational software and online resources.
- Experience working with children or in early childhood education settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of special education practices is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational skills for lesson planning and classroom management.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
