The Role
Our Industry Partner Training Department is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician Instructor in our Think Big program. This is a full-time sessional appointment starting August 15, 2025. Opportunity of Tenure Track position remains available based on favorable evaluation and budget. The ideal candidates will have a strong interest in helping students achieve their goals and be able to share their interest in this trade with students.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal/Journeyman. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

• An ability to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
• Knowledge of current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g., videoconferencing, D2L) are desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• An entrepreneurial spirit, specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities.
• Motivated individual who seeks to continuously improve instruction and meet the needs of various learners.
• Willingness to work with and support the Teaching & Learning Centre.

• Willingness to work with and support Recruitment events and efforts.

• Student-focused.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
• A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Being accredited as a Certified Caterpillar Instructor (CIAP) would be an asset and would be required during onboarding
• Finning or Caterpillar training or familiarity with “S” level training, product training and/or technology training would be considered assets.
