Are you passionate about athlete development and building high performance volleyball programs that inspire the next generation? The Richmond Olympic Oval is seeking a dynamic and experienced Volleyball Head Coach to lead our Oval High Performance (OvalHP) Volleyball Pathway. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee programming from grassroots to elite levels—including the Volleyball Canada Regional Excellence Program (REP)—ensuring alignment with national standards and long-term athlete development principles. With over 15 years of history in advancing volleyball talent, including supporting the Canadian Women’s National Team, the Oval offers a unique opportunity to coach, mentor, and shape the future of Canadian volleyball.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach Development & Training Delivery:
- Lead high-quality training sessions for elementary, high school, and club-level athletes.
- Mentor, assign, and evaluate volleyball instructors across all age groups.
- Ensure all programming aligns with Volleyball Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
Curriculum & Athlete Development:
- Design and implement progressive, age- and skill-appropriate training curricula.
- Integrate on-court training with strength and conditioning and sport science services.
- Monitor athlete progress and provide written feedback to athletes and parents.
Program Management:
- Oversee scheduling, registration, and administration of all volleyball programs and camps.
- Coordinate private training sessions and Volleyball Canada facility bookings.
- Manage part-time coaching staff schedules and support their professional development.
Strategic Planning & Financial Oversight:
- Collaborate with the High Performance team to set the strategic vision for OvalHP Volleyball.
- Budget, forecast, and track program metrics to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
- Process client payments and manage invoicing as needed.
Marketing & Community Engagement:
- Promote programs and recruit athletes to maximize participation and performance.
- Represent Oval REP at community events, coaching clinics, and parent education seminars.
- Maintain strong partnerships with Volleyball BC, local schools, and clubs.
National Team Support:
- Serve as the primary liaison for Volleyball Canada and the Women’s National Team.
- Ensure seamless coordination of their daily training environment, including facility access, scheduling, and operational needs.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sport Management, Physical Education, or related field (Master’s degree an asset).
- NCCP Volleyball Coaching Certification – Development Coach level minimum.
- Safe Sport Certification and commitment to the Responsible Coaching Movement (RCM).
- Over 5 years of coaching experience, including leadership of youth and/or high-performance programs.
- Proven success in athlete development across multiple stages of the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
- Experience managing coaching staff, program operations, and collaborative projects with provincial and national sport organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to align programming with sport partners such as Volleyball Canada, Volleyball BC, and local clubs.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.

Salary and Benefits: $60,319 - $75,761 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications).
