Head Brewer – Block Three Brewing Company Ltd. Location: St. Jacobs, Ontario | Full-Time | Reports to: General Manager
About Us: Block Three Brewing Company Ltd. is an independent craft brewery rooted in the creative, hardworking spirit of St. Jacobs, Ontario. Since 2013, we’ve been brewing small-batch beer that blends time-honoured techniques with bold ideas — and we’re proud to be a staple in our local community. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re looking for a passionate, experienced, and self-driven brewer to lead production from grain to glass.
The Role: As our Head Brewer, you’ll be solely responsible for the brewing process at Block Three — from production planning and brewing to cellar work and packaging. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and creative freedom. You’ll be part of a small but dedicated team where your voice matters and your impact is visible every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full brewing process including recipe development, brewing, fermentation, cellaring, packaging, and cleaning
- Plan and execute production schedule based on sales and inventory needs
- Maintain strict quality control and sanitation standards
- Monitor inventory and order raw materials and supplies
- Maintain brewing equipment and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Collaborate with leadership on seasonal and flagship recipes
- Accurately track production data and maintain brewing logs
- Support occasional events, tastings, or festivals as a brand ambassador
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of commercial brewing experience
- Strong knowledge of brewing process from brewing to packaging
- Comfortable working independently and managing all aspects of the brewhouse
- Mechanically inclined with a proactive approach to equipment care
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and record keeping
- Flexible and collaborative attitude — willing to pitch in where needed
