Job Summary:
As a Glass Glazier, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing glass in residential and commercial windows. You will work closely with the installation team to ensure proper handling and secure installation of various types of glass in accordance with safety standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark glass for cutting to fit window frames.
- Cut, shape, and smooth glass using hand tools and power tools.
- Remove old or broken glass and prepare surfaces for installation.
- Install glass panes into windows using appropriate adhesives, glazier points, or sealing materials.
- Ensure glazing work is weatherproof, structurally sound, and visually appealing.
- Handle and transport glass safely on job sites and during installation.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members, including installers and project managers.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a glazier, preferably with window glazing.
- Familiarity with different types of glass and installation techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy glass panes and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Safety training or certification (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection) is an asset.
