One of our clients seeks a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to play a pivotal role in project delivery and technical leadership. You will engage in planning, design, and oversight for a variety of civil infrastructure projects—including roads, bridges, buildings, tunnels, and water infrastructure—ensuring robust, efficient, and standards-compliant engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical engineering aspects of projects from proposal through design, construction, and completion.
- Perform and guide geotechnical investigations, including soil sampling, in-situ testing, and borehole oversight.
- Analyze and interpret geotechnical data; prepare engineering recommendations, slope stability analyses, and foundation design.
- Maintain regulatory compliance (e.g., Ontario Building Code, municipal/regional authorities).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (environmental, hydrogeological, materials, inspection).
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, technologists, and technicians.
- Contribute to R&D efforts, developing innovative approaches and best practices.
- Engage with clients, prepare technical reports, and present findings.
- Provide field oversight: inspections, data collection, quality assurance, and health & safety adherence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus, or related discipline.
- Professional Credentials: P.Eng. (or eligible) in Ontario or other Canadian province.
- Experience: 8+ years in geotechnical engineering within Canada (infrastructure, municipal, building, or environmental projects).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in geotechnical software—e.g., SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, Lpile—and engineering report preparation.
- Field Acumen: Strong investigative, inspection, and site management skills.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, team leadership, and client relations abilities.
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites/provincial offices.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated base salary: CAD 90K–CAD 110K+, depending on experience and qualifications
