Pioneer Construction is looking for hard-working, self-motivated employees with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of general labourer in the Dubreuilville, Ontario area for the 2025-2026 winter season. The general labourer will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and independence. This is a full-time seasonal position from September 2025 to April 2026, with the possibility of extension. This position is available with competitive wages and a benefits package.
JOB DUTIES:
- Operate snow removal equipment including snowblowers, sweepers, plows, and shovels
- Spread salt, sand, and other de-icing materials on roads, walkways, stairs, and work areas
- Assist equipment operators, and other skilled labourers when necessary.
- Clear snow and ice from high-traffic and critical infrastructure areas such as entrances, access roads, emergency exits, and equipment pads.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond to snow/ice accumulation promptly.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
- Perform site clean-up.
- Work schedule consists of 7 days on and 7 days off. Day shifts and night shifts as required.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment.
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform related duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License is required.
- Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.
- Prior experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors).
- Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
- Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
- Verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
