Job Title: Handyman / General Maintenance Technician

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and reliable, multi-skilled Handyman to handle general repairs and maintenance across a variety of commercial and residential properties. The role involves travelling to multiple locations in and around Ottawa, Belleville, Cornwall, Pembroke, Hawkesbury, and Gatineau. Candidates must also be available for emergency service calls on weekends, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform drywall repairs, mudding, taping, and surface preparation
- Carry out interior and exterior painting, including touch-ups and full repaints
- Handle minor carpentry: doors, trim, cabinetry, and fixture installations
- Conduct light plumbing and electrical repairs (e.g., leaking faucets, lighting issues)
- Assemble furniture and install wall-mounted items (cabinets, shelves, furniture , signage, etc )
- Respond to routine and emergency maintenance calls, including some weekend availability
- Travel to various job sites within the designated service areas
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or related trades
- Well-rounded skills in carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical, and finishing
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Own vehicle and tools preferred, but company vehicle and may be provided for suitable candidates
- Strong time management, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- Must be comfortable with traveling to job sites in nearby cities
- Weekend availability for emergency calls is required
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate or salary based on experience
- Paid travel time or mileage reimbursement (if using personal vehicle)
- Company vehicle may be provided
