Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team full time in our office in Sechelt. This role will report directly to our controller and part-time CFO. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounts payable/payments cycle, revenue and accounts receivable, key performance indicators (KPIs), month-end financial close, payroll, sales tax, and payroll tax processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounts payable and payments cycle.
- Handle revenue and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections. Oversee monthly contract calculations and billings.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Update monthly dashboard and reports in KPI software.
- Manage the month-end and year-end financial close process, including preparation off financial statements.
- Administer payroll and ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
- Prepare and file sales tax and payroll tax returns.
- Oversee employee benefits with bookkeeper.
- Assist the controller and CFO with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bookkeeping designation or CPA designation preferred; however, candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, teams and particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Salary range of $40,000 - $45,000, depending on experience.

Pay: $52,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
