The Role:
Join the Food Safety and Quality Assurance team at Leadbetter Foods as an FSQA Coordinator, where you will oversee the daily upkeep, ongoing evaluation, and continuous enhancement of Food Safety and Quality Programs at our facilities. With a proactive approach, you will initiate prompt corrective measures, inspire your colleagues, and foster a strong Food Safety and Quality Culture while addressing FSQA concerns as necessary.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Engage in daily decision-making related to quality and food safety, following established protocols to ensure our products meet Leadbetter Foods' quality standards and customer requirements.
- Oversee the daily operations of the plant’s complaint, hold and release, and non-conformance programs.
- Conduct daily monitoring and verification tasks in line with the HACCP system.
Provide training, guidance, and support to both hourly and salaried employees to uphold and enhance the facility’s FSQA practices and procedures.
- Prepare sensory samples and take part in sensory evaluations of meat products.
- Handle data entry and analysis tasks.
- Conduct regular plant audits to ensure effective implementation of plant programs and participate in both external and internal audits as needed.
- Be cross-trained in various FSQA responsibilities, performing microbiological, chemical, and analytical sampling for products and environments as required.
- Use additional duties as assigned.
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take initiative in leadership roles to advance these efforts.
What You'll Bring:
- A university degree or college diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a food-related technical role.
- Proficient in systems, including MS Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Keen attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn and to teach others.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and a desire to grow.
- Flexibility in work shifts is essential.
