The Role:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operational Food Safety and Quality Assurance, the incumbent is a strong change agent who enjoys working in an agile environment with a mindset of efficiency and profitability. The position incumbent will work to continuously improve our food safety and quality operational practices, standards, processes, programs, and procedures, as well as Nature's Touch's ways of working, government regulations, and customer specifications across all Nature's Touch factories.
Note: This role is open to applicants based at any Nature's Touch facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the members of the FSQA operational team and participate in the implementation of the company's quality assurance programs and policies (Nature's Touch work methods, HACCP, SQF, etc.).
- They are a key change agent to ensure the efficient and cost-effective standardization of best practices across all Nature's Touch plants.
- Act as a coach for the FSQA operations team.
- Oversee continuous improvement initiatives to meet and exceed KPIs.
- Perform a thorough risk assessment, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) as part of the quality assurance of operational food products.
- Support R&D and innovation projects by ensuring compliance with Nature's Touch ways of working, government regulations, and customer specifications.
- Oversee monthly and annual reviews of customer complaint reports and contribute to the identification of overall improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular gap analysis between applicable standards and/or regulations and current practices and internal quality assurance systems. Maintain a quality plan to ensure that the company meets industry and regulatory standards.
- Work in partnership with all plant personnel to ensure that all quality assurance processes and programs are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Support the plants or any other departments when an investigation is required.

- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, or equivalent.
- 8-10+ years of similar experience.
- HACCP Certificate would be an asset
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with suppliers' approval in the food, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics industry.
- Experience in food safety within a ready-to-eat environment is a plus.
- Effective time management, prioritization, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French and/or Spanish would be an asset.
