We are looking for a Front of House Lead. With a focus on supporting our volunteers, the front of house lead is responsible for ensuring the safety of audiences and the delivery of exceptional customer experiences to all Imperial Theatre patrons. FOH lead supervises and supports a team of volunteer bartenders and ushers. They coordinate a smooth operation of all front of house services while ensuring compliance with AGCO and Imperial Theatre policies and procedures. Reporting to the Production Manager, the ideal candidate is a well organized leader who demonstrates a commitment to exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, screen, place, schedule and monitor volunteers - ushers, bartenders, merchandisers, etc
- Record and report on volunteer statistics
- Be in charge of the smooth running of the Front of House during show times
- Supervise FOH ushers and bar staff throughout the evening
- Care and supervision of the public before, during and after the performance
- Train volunteers in all Front of House matters (i.e. bartending, ushering)
- Ensure all products are restocked and ordered for any upcoming shows – this includes but is not limited to paper products, bar stock, popcorn supplies, coffee supplies, etc
- Keep an up to date volunteer contact sheet for Front of House and Bartending volunteers
- Coordinate and ensure the smooth operation of all front of house services
- Coordinate volunteer staff delegation of duties
- Coordinate and schedule cleaners and security
- Work in conjunction with the operations team, technical supervisor, and venue staff and volunteers
- Remedy and report on any safety concerns in all public areas
- Ensure the safety of patrons, volunteers, and staff through adherence and enforcement of established emergency procedures
- Collect and verify floats and deposits per operating procedures
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Work in accordance with AGCO regulations and Imperial Theatre policies and procedures
- Verify inventory
- Complete administrative duties as required
- Coordinating the use of public spaces for pre and post show bars, events, and receptions, including set up and take down
- Ensuring the cleanliness of all public spaces including monitoring and restocking supplies as needed (i.e. bathroom tissue,popcorn cups etc)during a performance
- Supervise and assist with the clean up of the auditorium and public spaces at the conclusion events
Qualifications:
- Experience of customer care
- Willing to learn new skills
- Work well under pressure
- Able to solve problems independently
- Experience in supervising staff including volunteers
- Confident in dealing with customers face to face
- Has or willing to obtain SmartServe and First Aid
- Ability to work extended hours standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Available to work evenings and weekends
- Work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.50-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week

- Sarnia, ON N7T 5T9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Smart Serve (preferred)
