Overview
South Hill Lodge is seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Agent to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently and accurately
- Handle guest inquiries and provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
- Maintain accurate records of guest information and reservations using phone systems and front desk software
- Address guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure rooms are ready for guests
- Process payments, post room charges, and manage cash handling procedures
- Manage phone systems, direct calls, and take messages as needed
- Uphold hotel policies and procedures while maintaining a high level of hospitality
- Assist with end-of-day reporting and audit procedures as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk and lobby area
- Report any unusual occurrences, guest issues, or emergencies to management
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services or customer service roles is preferred
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a hotel or similar environment is advantageous
- Proficiency in using property management systems (PMS) and front office equipment is beneficial
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with guests
- Multilingual or bilingual skills are an asset
- A passion for hospitality and providing excellent customer service is a must
