Flooring Estimator

Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely preparation of flooring estimates for primarily track builder work. Experience in custom, renovation and retail flooring estimates would be an asset. Candidate will be required to liaison with the clientele team representatives, to ensure the information is accurate and precise. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have 5 years minimum experience conducting flooring take offs. The candidate must be thorough, organized, skilled at time management and have an aptitude for reading blueprint drawings to ensure accuracy.
Required - Technical
- Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, Excel
- Must be able to conduct manual take offs. Proficiency in take off software is beneficial but not required.
- Must maintain a level of product knowledge among all flooring materials, substrate requirements and waterproofing for new construction and renovation projects
- Skilled with interpreting blueprints, specifications and other documentation to provide precise flooring take-offs, estimates & work orders
- Familiar with basic computer systems, file structures and operations
Required – Non-Technical
- Previous experience in flooring estimating (2 years minimum)
- Work with various internal and external colleagues to obtain information necessary to fulfill job function
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Must Be Available to work Monday – Friday 8:30-5:00
Education Requirements
- Diploma or post-secondary education in construction, estimating or related field
- Knowledge and previous experience in flooring installations and/or the construction industry considered an asset
