We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Flight Operations Coordinator to support our 702 aerial work operations. This role is a key link between flight crews, safety, maintenance, management, and external agencies, ensuring all flight activities are planned, monitored, and executed safely and efficiently. Job Title: Flight Operations Coordinator
Location: Red Deer Regional Airport
Reports To: Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities: In compliance with the Company Operations Manual, Dispatch Manual, Safety Management System Manual, Canadian Aviation Regulations, and client requirements;
- Support flight crews by monitoring enroute aircraft, maintaining communication with flight crews, providing updates on weather, NOTAMs, TFRs, airspace restrictions, and other logistical considerations as required.
- Schedule flight crews while adhering to fatigue risk management guidelines.
- Liaise with customers, maintenance, fuel suppliers, and ground handling providers to ensure seamless operations.
- Organizing transportation and accommodation at destination if required.
- Interpret and relay flight data to relevant internal departments.
- Tracking and maintenance of role-specific onboard equipment
- Maintenance of aircraft documentation/Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)
- Support the development and execution of emergency response procedures.
- Assist in maintaining and updating dispatch procedures.
- Assist with trend monitoring, and flight operations quality assurance.
- Participate in internal and external audits and training programs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Non-GDL Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
- The ability to operate company owned vehicles (minimal demerit points)
- The ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Sills & Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian airspace, METAR/TAF interpretation, NOTAMs, and flight planning.
- Sound understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
- Familiar with operational control types (co-authority or pilot self-dispatch as applicable).
- Strong situational awareness and understanding of VFR/IFR airspace and Canadian weather systems.
- Previous experience in aviation operations.
- Post-secondary education in aviation or related field.
