Position: Health & Safety Instructor (First Aid CPR)
Employment: Full-time or Part-time
Location: Training Centres - Edmonton, AB

Compensation: $54,000 - 62,400/year FT ($26 - 30/hour PT)


Worksite Safety is looking to expand its growing team of classroom instructors. The successful candidate will be a certified Red Cross Instructor with a love for training others, excellent public speaking skills, and experience with occupational health and safety to draw on.


This position could be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate and will deliver First Aid training at our training locations throughout Edmonton, Alberta. Full time instructors would be scheduled Monday to Friday with weekends needed occasionally. Part-time instructors are needed for weekends, with any weekday availability appreciated. The Health & Safety Instructor reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training. As a Red Cross training partner, we require candidates to have active Canadian Red Cross Instructor certification.


As a Health & Safety Instructor (First Aid CPR) your key responsibilities are:

  • Teaching students through discussions, provided audio-visual presentations, and hands-on equipment training
  • Preparing, administering, and marking tests
  • Organizing, filing, and submitting digital and hardcopy student records in a timely manner
  • Participate in instructor training on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in team meetings and development workshops
  • Occasionally travel to other southern Ontario training locations

The right candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Certification as an Instructor with the Canadian Red Cross
  • Background in health care, adult education, occupational health & safety and/or an emergency service related field
  • Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
  • Valid Ontario’s Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
  • Able to legally work in Canada
