As we continue with our growth strategy, we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Fire Alarm Service / Inspection Technician – for our BC Project.
Responsibilities: of this position may include, but not limited to:
- · Locating, installing equipment, panels, sensors, other control components and devices
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems as required
- Perform periodic inspection requirements on fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, wet and dry sprinkler systems, standpipe and hose systems, portable fire extinguishers, battery-operated emergency lighting units and fire suppression systems
- Diagnose and detect circuit, component, and equipment faults
- Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manual
- Complete and return inspection reports and work orders efficiently
- Versed in navigating CEC, NFPA and CAN/ULC, British Columbia & Alberta Code and BC/AB Fire Code
- Maintain excellent knowledge of safety and ensure I-CAB status is up to date
- Fully Licensed and Registered CFAA certification for BC or Alberta.
- Journeyman Electrician is an asset
- Suncor site experience is an asset
- 2 to 5 years experience in the Fire Alarm Service / Inspection working with fire alarm system
- Knowledge of most major fire alarm panels and monitoring communicators
- Industrial Oil Sand Experience is an asset
- Experience working and executing maintenance in a live facility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Updated Tickets such as WHMIS 2015, CSTS 2020, H2S Alive
- Valid Class 5 Drivers' License
- Must be willing to travel and do shift work
- Successful completion of pre-employment tests
