The Opportunity: A Financial Services Officer responsible for providing support and assistance to students and for supporting all Financial Services staff for department processes and reporting. This position is integral to the success of international student accounts receivable and tuition accounts payable and serves as a backup to all domestic and international student support roles during peak periods and absences. The incumbent will understand, interpret, analyze and verify fee assessments and maintain and manipulate student assessment data. The Financial Services Officer will respond to international student and staff account inquires, process international student refunds, accounts adjustments, extensions agreements and documentation, assist with collection of outstanding accounts, process international student bursaries and ensure associated adjustments are recorded in the General Ledger.
What you need to be successful:
- two year diploma in Accounting
- minimum three years of accounting experience in an environment that requires collecting, summarizing and manipulating student financial data
- experience with student accounts in a financial environment considered an asset
- ability to work efficiently with Microsoft Office products and Microsoft 365
- demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets and Excel at an intermediate level
- strong analytical and problem solving skills
- excellent customer service skills
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
This is an Appendix D support staff position, Payband F $31.05 -$35.99 (starting rate $28.56/hour), 35 hours/week, required until July 2026.
