The Financial Controller, based in The Pas, will oversee accounting and administration for Northland Ford (The Pas and Flin Flon) and Great North Chevrolet Buick GMC (The Pas).
Reporting to ownership, you will support company goals through your financial and administrative expertise
Duties
- Management of accounting personnel and operations at our three locations, including payroll, invoicing, A/P, A/R, and general ledger activities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis, adhering to GAAP standards, complete, and deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements.
- Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts, short-term and long-term projections and budgets, and reports on variances.
- Internal Controls and Compliance, coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting and compliance with local, Provincial, and Federal Government reporting required and tax filings, coordinate with external auditors on the completion of year-end statements.
- Cost Control and Expense Management
- Collaboration with Management, acting as a strategic partner by providing financial insights for decision-making.
- Risk Management, identifying financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Customer and Vendor Relations with lenders, banks, and suppliers.
- Assist with onboarding new hires, maintains personnel files, and manages Foreign Worker administration; management of staff benefits and pension programs.
- Warranty, Inventory, and Insurance administration.
Experience & Skills
- Post-Secondary Degree or certificate with a CPA accounting designation preferred.
- Experience in a financial management capacity leading all finance and accounting functions.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Technologically savvy, proficient with accounting systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive issues and information.
- Strategic and analytical; ability to make recommendations and provide solutions.
