We are currently seeking a Bilingual Accountant to join our team and take full responsibility for the financial health of the business. This is a key leadership role that supports daily operations and strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate and compliant financial records for the company
- Prepare weekly expenditure reports and monthly financial statements
- Coordinate with auditors and lead year-end financial close
Accounts Receivable & Invoicing
- Issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
- Reconcile shipping and ERP data to ensure accurate billing
Accounts Payable & Purchasing
- Process supplier invoices and manage purchase orders
- Liaise with vendors to resolve payment issues
Payroll & Benefits
- Process payroll and manage employee benefit tracking
- Coordinate with operations to ensure timesheet accuracy
Tax Compliance
- Manage HST filing and tax remittances
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax requirements
Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare annual budgets and monitor actuals vs. forecasts
- Maintain dashboards with KPIs including cash flow, receivables, gross margin, and payroll metrics
Operations Support
- Collaborate with logistics and customer service to audit shipping and billing
- Support inventory and cost tracking processes
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Dashboard
- Weekly Cashflow
- Budget vs. Actual Variance
- AR and AP
- Gross Margin Tracking
- Other Financial Metrics
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in accounting, finance, or a related role
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (SAGE) and ERP systems
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
- Highly organized and excellent analytical skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field an asset
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices
