To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

As a Babcock Field Service Representative, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, technical inspection, diagnostics and repair of armoured vehicles directly at client sites or in the field. The technician also provides technical training to operators or local maintenance teams. This role requires frequent travel, high autonomy, and strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems specific to armoured vehicles.


In this role, you will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on armored vehicles (mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic) domestically at client sites and in the field, both in Canada and internationally.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and faults in the field using specialized diagnostic tools.
  • Replace or repair defective parts according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety and armor standards. Conduct inspections, maintenance and repair of armoured vehicles internationally.
  • Conduct in country parts stock checking and replenishment requests.
  • Generate concise and accurate handwritten and electronic vehicle reports.
  • This role requires frequent international travel including to areas of high risk. Overseas deployments may be up to four weeks.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Technical Skills

    • In-depth knowledge of diesel mechanics, 12V/24V electrical systems, hydraulics, onboard electronics and On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems.
    • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
    • Familiarity with armored vehicle systems and specialized components (secure locking, redundant circuits, etc.).
    • Understanding of and ability to follow circuit diagrams for installation and fault-finding purposes
    • Ability to replace armoured glazing

  • Qualifications

    • A Degree or diploma in automotive mechanics, electromechanics, or related technical field
    • 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in automotive and manufacturing environments
    • Valid driver’s license – appropriate class for heavy vehicles (often Class 3 or equivalent).
    • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
    • Are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
    • Have or be willing to obtain the UK Security Check (SC) level of security clearance and maintain the relevant level of clearance throughout your employment.
    • Ability to complete mandatory Security Awareness in Fragile Environments (SAFE) training including the physical fitness requirement

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and strict adherence to safety protocols.

    • Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team to achieve desired results
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, including providing formal reports and making presentations.
    • Ability to carry out any other reasonable requests as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs

Working Conditions include:

  • Frequent travel (up to 80% of the time).
  • Flexible working hours based on client needs (may include evenings, nights, or weekends). Work in secure or sensitive environments (background checks required).
