About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Field Network Installation Technician to assist in the setup and commissioning of commercial internet infrastructure at customer locations. This is a hands-on technical field role ideal for individuals with experience in wireless equipment, cabling, and customer-facing deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and secure a tripod and mast on commercial building rooftops following non-penetrating mounting guidelines.
- Mount and align radio antennas with precision.
- Run and terminate outdoor CAT6 cabling from roof-mounted radio to indoor network equipment.
- Install and configure switches and routers in customer suites.
- Perform antenna alignment, speed testing, and quality control.
- Label all equipment and cabling according to client specifications.
- Ensure all penetrations are properly flashed and sealed.
- Coordinate with building managers and other tenants as needed for access.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of field experience in wireless radio, network equipment installation, or structured cabling.
- Strong knowledge of point to point radio systems and network switching/routing.
- Comfortable working at heights and using rooftop safety equipment.
- Ability to read and follow technical scope documents and building access protocols.
- Familiarity with CAT6 outdoor-rated cable installation and PoE standards.
- Skilled in proper cable labeling, grounding, and sealing techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, alignment, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and coordination with site contacts.
Nice to Have
- Certifications for arial lift and working at heights.
- Experience working in commercial buildings and coordinating with property management.
- Ability to document work using apps or mobile tools for QC and reporting.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and tight spaces.
- Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
