Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day operations by ensuring our facility is clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained. This hands-on role involves a mix of material handling, janitorial duties, general maintenance, and workspace organization to support a smooth and efficient working environment.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of work areas, common spaces, and restrooms
- Safely handle and move materials, supplies, and equipment as needed
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing incoming materials
- Conduct regular inspections of facility equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Support basic facility repairs and upkeep (e.g., replacing lights, clearing debris, minor fixes)
- Keep tool rooms, storage areas, and shop floors clean and well-organized
- Ensure walkways and emergency exits remain clear and hazard-free
- Work with other departments to ensure timely and safe flow of materials throughout the plant
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards at all times
- Participate in seasonal or project-based cleanup and organization tasks
Qualifications
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance, janitorial work, or material handling preferred
- Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy materials (up to 75 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Forklift or pallet jack experience is an asset
- Comfortable working in industrial or warehouse environments
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and maintenance practices
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
