As the External Communications Intern, you will work closely with the External Communications Coordinator as well as the External Communications Manager and have the chance to develop transferable skills and experience for your resume at the leading Canadian-owned family discount store! Your responsibilities will include assisting in the launch of a successful Public Relations seasonal strategy for our 2024 Holiday campaign, as well as supporting with ad-hoc communications and community tasks.
Role Highlights:
- Draft communications copy to support content for press releases, social media, and other communication channels as needed
- Pulling product and creating media mailers
- Supporting with sending out influencer packages
- Assisting with media monitoring and weekly press reports and post campaign wrap up reports
- Supporting with workflow for fall and holiday PR campaigns
- Supporting with ad-hoc community, events, and internal communications team requests
Candidate Requirements:
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Communications or Communications and Media Studies program
- Strong ability to take initiative
- Resourceful problem-solver
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Capable of diving into tasks with efficiency and enthusiasm
- Intermediate knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite including: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Proficiency in Canva, CISION, and CreatorIQ is considered an asset
- Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset
