- We are looking to hire cooks that reside in Halifax, Nova Scotia
Reporting to the Chef, the GRILL/ Sauce cook is responsible for safely preparing dishes required for a full-service restaurant. The ideal candidate must have previous kitchen experience and be motivated by a desire to progress in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging environment.
The GRILL / Saute COOK will be responsible for prepping and managing assigned stations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items on the grill according to recipes and customer preferences
- Ensure that all food is cooked to perfection, maintaining high standards of taste, presentation, and quality
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of orders
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
- Clean and maintain the grill area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen manager
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Grill / Sauce cook or similar role in the food industry
- Solid knowledge of meal preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Ability to handle multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
