Position Details
Under the direction of the academic staff member responsible for the course section for which the exam is being written, and reporting to the Calgary Campus Manager, the Exam Invigilator provides supervision to the students writing exams or quizzes in Calgary Campus courses.
We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented individuals to help maintain the integrity and security of the examination process. Invigilators ensure exams are conducted fairly and without disruption, in line with academic policies.
As an Exam Invigilator, you will be responsible for monitoring exam sessions in accordance with established protocols, ensuring compliance with academic policies, and creating an environment that supports student success. The role requires interacting with students in a professional and respectful manner, maintaining discretion when handling sensitive materials, and adjusting to changing priorities as needed. A strong sense of reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations are essential to this role.
This is a casual role with hours based on exam demand and scheduling. Availability may vary throughout the academic year, and hours are not guaranteed.

In accordance with established exam protocols, Exam Invigilators are expected to:
- Regulate the exam environment to ensure it remains quiet, comfortable, and safe for all students.
- Monitor exam writers attentively by patrolling and observing to protect exam security and uphold academic integrity.
- Address and report suspected cheating or other academic integrity concerns in collaboration with the course instructor or designated academic staff.
- Handle exam materials with care, ensuring all items are properly distributed to students, unused materials are collected, and everything is returned to academic staff securely.
- Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to resolve issues or unexpected situations as they arise during exams.
- Always maintain a professional and respectful demeanor within the exam environment.
- Safeguard the privacy, security, and confidentiality of student information and all exam content.

Rate of Pay: $25.00/hour
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a mature and responsible student who is nearing the completion of an undergraduate degree, typically in their fourth year, or is currently enrolled in a graduate program. Students in the third year of their undergraduate studies may also be considered. Candidates should have a strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 2.75 A combination of relevant work experience and academic performance may also be considered.
Applicants must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. They should be responsive to email communication and maintain a professional tone in all interactions. The role requires effective use of conflict resolution and critical thinking skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities. Previous experience in customer service or a similar role is considered an asset.

Students who are currently enrolled in the same program and major as an exam they would be asked to invigilate are considered to be in a conflict of interest and will not be assigned to those specific exams. However, they may still be eligible to invigilate exams in other subject areas
