Overview
As an Estimator, you play an important role in the pursuit and achievement of Thomson Roof Treatment Ltd. You are responsible for the quantification, cost estimation, and bid preparation for potential jobs, and generate revenue to assist the company to grow. Reporting to the General Manager, you work closely with the site team and Scheduler in the preparation of project initiation and planning.
In the Estimator role, you are also responsible to:
- Manage and lead site staff, where applicable
- Maintain strong client relationships with existing clients while developing new client potential by offering professional, effective, and efficient solutions to inquiries
- Generate revenue, including management of assigned accounts by providing quotes, pricing, recommendations
- Accountable for building effective business relationships and maintaining client confidence
- Develop sales and marketing plans and execute on those plans
- Prepare cost estimates for review
- Prepare project packages and proposals when applicable

In your Estimator role, you are expected and responsible to:
- Promote Thomson Roof Treatment Ltd. brand effectively and consistently
- Seek out, develop, and maintain solid client relationships with potential and new clients
- Identify new business opportunities
- Acquire information regarding details on prospective jobs
- Identify new markets, new partnerships, develop new ways to reach existing markets
- Attending events, networking
- Participate in exhibitions where applicable
- Cold calling, generating sales, and responding to incoming leads
- Nurture and maintain existing client relationships
- Attend in person meetings, where appropriate
- Give advice on the services we provide
- Photograph and measure sites for budget and pricing purposes
- Develop a comprehensive related budget plan with details
- Generate revenue, including management of assigned accounts by providing quotes, and pricing
- Build effective business relationships and maintain client confidence
- Develop estimates based on a practical understanding of logistics, and means and methods of completing a job
- Understand the current market labour, and impacts on costs
- Assist in managing the closing of estimates
- Manage client solicitation and ensure scope of coverage
- Track performance and submit reviews as set out by the General Manager
