Job Overview
GPI is looking for responsible, organized and fun individuals to fill teaching/coordinating positions throughout the summer. We hire on a contract basis for each group, so when you work is up to you, but you must commit to working the duration of that program. Hours are usually 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday. Work locations vary between Coquitlam, Surrey, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Candidates must have their own vehicle.
We are looking for professional, qualified and talented ESL teachers who are passionate about teaching and adopt a student-centered approach to working with international learners. We prefer teachers with B.Ed or TESL Certificate with classroom experience but will consider applicants with general experience working with students.
Duties
- High level of organization and punctuality
- Conduct lessons based on current ESL teaching methodologies using provided curriculum
- Encourage and engage students to speak in English
- Motivate students by providing an engaging and pleasant learning environment
- Display excellent classroom management
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and communications skills to manage and coordinate cultural activities associated with the programs
Experience
- Previous experience teaching English as a Second Language or tutoring in an educational setting is preferred.
- Experience working with children or diverse groups of learners is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- A background in education or related fields will be beneficial for this role.
We are always looking to expand our teacher & coordinator network; and while we are hoping to find educators and that can provide both a professional classroom experience and fulfill coordinator responsibilities, people with event planning and good organizational skills to fulfill roles as Head Coordinators may be considered.

Contract length: 1 - 2 months
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
