Under the supervision of the Environmental Director, the incumbent will act as an environmental advisor for the implementation of environmental requirements on our construction sites in the Montreal area, including activities related to LEED certification. In collaboration with the project management teams, the incumbent must ensure the environmental compliance of construction activities, the implementation of environmental management plans, and the achievement of LEED objectives
- Maintain up-to-date environmental performance indicators (non-compliance, spills, waste materials, best practices, etc.)
- Develop environmental plans and programs and ensure their implementation by supporting construction teams and carrying out activities on site (e.g., management of demolition materials and construction waste, hazardous waste, erosion control, contaminated soil management, etc.).
- Provide environmental consulting services to project teams on various environmental issues and obligations related to projects (monitoring the quality of water discharges, dust, contaminated soil, storage of hazardous waste, permits and authorizations, storage and disposal of waste, noise and other nuisances, etc.).
- Conduct site visits and support the site team in carrying out work in accordance with LEED certification and all environmental requirements associated with the project.
- Proactively find solutions to address discrepancies and meet requirements.
- Complete weekly environmental monitoring reports
- Conduct site visits and support the superintendent in carrying out work in accordance with LEED certification and all environmental requirements associated with the project
- Implement environmental plans on construction sites and produce follow-up reports as required.
- Carry out various activities related to the implementation of Pomerleau's environmental management system (EMS) on construction sites.
This role could be for you if you have
- Hold a technical or university degree in the field of environment, sustainable development, engineering, geology, or a similar field;
- 3 years of experience as an environmental technician or consultant
- Experience in construction or industry;
- Knowledge of LEED certification is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Valid driver's license
