Position Summary:
The Enhanced Support Worker provides individualized or small group support to children with diverse needs within a licensed child care setting. Working in collaboration with educators, families, and community professionals, the Enhanced Support Worker helps implement strategies that promote inclusion and facilitate full participation of all children in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to children with additional needs in a child care environment.
- Collaborate with educators to adapt programming and routines to meet individual goals and needs.
- Assist with transitions, social integration, communication, and emotional regulation strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour guidance strategies that align with centre philosophy.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of observations and progress.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families, supervisors, and external supports.
- Support the development of inclusive practices within the classroom.
- Participate in training and professional development as required.
- Adhere to all Brighton Children’s Centre policies and relevant legislation, including the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Work, Developmental Services, Educational Assistant, or a related field.
- Experience working with children with special needs or developmental differences.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and early intervention strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting.
Requirements:
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months).
- Up-to-date immunization record, including TB test (if required).
- Ability to lift, bend, and participate in all physical aspects of child care.

Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
