Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and curriculum-aligned English lessons to students at middle / high school levels. The teacher will foster critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills, while supporting students’ academic growth and confidence in English language arts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum or other designated standards.
- Teach reading, writing, grammar, literature, oral communication, and media literacy.
- Develop and adapt teaching materials to meet students’ diverse learning needs.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams.
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain student records and reports.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and inquiry.
- Communicate with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
- Ensure classroom management and uphold school policies and code of conduct.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (preferred for public/private school settings).
- Additional qualifications are an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum and assessment practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
